How much humidity does my indoor cannabis plants? 2020 Updated

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air, expressed as a percentage. The humidity is very important for a marijuana plant because it determines the degree of evaporation. The lower the humidity, the higher the evaporation pressure and the more water and nutrients your marijuana plant can absorb. However, if the evaporation pressure becomes too high, the plant will protect itself against dehydration and its stomata will close. Consequently it won't be able to absorb any water anymore, and the grow will stagnate.

Growth Stages and Humidity Control
For clone rooms, 19 percent of research participants said the ideal humidity level is 56%-60%. The same number of respondents said that, ideally, the humidity level should fall in the range of 76% to 80%. In all, the research showed that desired humidity levels in clone rooms varies from 40%-45% to above 80%.

Seedlings and the vegetative phase
Younger plants that are in their vegetative phase will feel at their best in a humidity of 40-70%. Keeping the percentage at this range will increase the growth of your plant massively. In this period the plant is able to grow lot’s of new leaves and branches because there is still enough moist in the air for them to consume. This eventually leads to a faster and more extensive growing plant.

Flowering cannabis is best within the ranges of 55-60 percent relative humidity. This is the same as temperature, the more consistent the humidity is, it will promote healthy and evener growth.

Late Flowering Stage
Humidity levels of 25% to 40% will provide perfect growing conditions. Watering plants during the dark cycle will help lower moisture. Lowering grow room temperatures at this time will serve the plants well, too, although a temperature reduction will inevitably occur from the shorter light cycle and the break from high-intensity light—and associated higher temperatures—the plants receive at this time. The lower moisture and temperatures will maximize yield and quality.

Use Humidifiers And/Or Dehumidifiers
The amount of moisture can be easily altered through the use of humidifiers for plants or dehumidifiers. These devices conveniently add or take out vapor from the air without the need to manipulate other variables. Just make sure to get the appropriate size for the grow area.

Smaller humidifiers work just as fine, but investing in a larger one eliminates the need to refill several times a day. Sizing a dehumidifier, on the other hand, is a little bit trickier. An important thing to remember is that plants transpire 97% of the water absorbed. Estimating the total water input in the garden will help identify the right device.

Best Humidifiers or Dehumidifiers for Sale

Eco Farm Ultrasonic Humidifier for Greenhouse

Industrial Ultrasonic Humidifier for Greenhouse Planting
This is an inexpensive and robust option for those who want to increase humidity without spending too much money. It works perfectly fine for plants. Remember that most humidifiers (including this one) will have a cooling chamber, so you’re not releasing boiling hot water vapour.

In terms of specifications, it has a 12 litre tank which allows for 12 hours of continuous running. There are two types of mist nozzle, and the noise level for both is minimal.

Eco Farm Mini Dehumidifier for Grow Room

ECO Farm 750ml Mini Portable Air Conditioner Dehumidifier for Grow Room
